A little introduction

I believe mental health supports every other area of life. When we are mentally and emotionally well, we are better able to face challenges and make choices that reflect the lives we want to build.

Experiences from our childhoods, past relationships, and other significant periods of our lives can shape automatic patterns in how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and respond emotionally. Because these patterns often operate outside our awareness, we may find ourselves reacting in ways that feel immediate and difficult to change, even when we recognize that those reactions are no longer helping us.

My approach to therapy is active, practical, and depth-oriented. Practical strategies can provide support when emotions feel overwhelming, but coping skills and insight alone may not change reactions that are deeply ingrained. I work with clients to understand what is driving their current responses, identify where those responses may have originated, and address the memories, beliefs, and emotions that continue to be activated in the present.

The goal is not only to manage symptoms or understand why a pattern exists. It is to work at the source of what is keeping it in place so that the past no longer has the same influence over present reactions. This can create space for more adaptive responses and meaningful, lasting change.
